A biographer in Tuscany: your story written here

by Giovanni Casali, editorial coordinator

DualPen Books works between Florence and Arezzo: the first consultation is by video call, and for Tuscan projects we can also meet in person. Your story, written by someone who knows this land: in English too.

Stories have places

A Tuscan life is made of farmhouses and workshops, of families who have known each other for three generations, of words spoken only here. A writer who knows these places does not need them explained: he recognises them, and the story rings true from the first page. It is the difference between describing a farmhouse and having spent summers in one.

Where we work

The studio sits between Florence and Arezzo. We follow projects across Tuscany, from the Valdarno to Chianti to the coast, and by video call everywhere. For nearby projects, meetings can happen in person: at your home, in the family business, or where the story took place: some memories only come back in their own places.

What we write here

Biographies and family memoirs: including for the many English speakers who have made Tuscany their home and want their years here told properly. The story of the farm, the winery, the workshop that has carried your name for three generations. Lives that deserve to remain, well written and printed for those to come.

What it costs

Rates are the same everywhere: a biography starts at 3,500 euros (6,000 for the full-length format), a shorter project at 2,500. The exact quote comes after the first consultation, free and without obligation. The full picture: How much does a family biography cost?

Quick questions

Do you come to me?

For Tuscan projects, yes: meetings are arranged where needed, at home or in the places of the story. Elsewhere we work perfectly well by video call.

How long does it take?

Months: it depends on the story, the material and the memories to gather. The calendar is built together at the first consultation.

Do you write in English?

Yes: we deliver in English, Italian, French, German and Spanish. A Tuscan story written in English for family abroad is a classic we love.
